My Inspiration

It took me a while to figure out what inspired me besides the normal stuff like my family and my girlfriend because I want them to be proud of me and so on and so forth. So I tried to think why I am the person I am today and why do I like the things that I'm into. My first love was music. When I was younger I wanted to learn to play guitar and there was one band that inspired me to do so, Further Seems Forever.

Surprisingly they are still my favorite band 10+ years later. I wouldn't say they inspire me to do much today, but they got the inspiration ball rolling for me.

My second area for inspiration happened by randomly buying a movie that I thought the cover looked cool to. That movie was The Royal Tenenbaums by Wes Anderson. I didn't know what the movie was or what it was about, but after watching it for the first time, I felt I hadn't watched anything like it before. The way Wes tells a story in his movies started some sort of fire in me. I've seen all of his films and love them all. He has inspired me to get into video and to learn how to tell a story with film. It is a dream of mine to be able to tell a story in a way he does but I'm sure his greatness will never be reached.

First day of class impressions.

I was coming into this class not knowing exactly what to expect, and still don't quite frankly. I thought that this class would explore alternative options for creativity but I feel that this class might a little deeper than that. I can say that I had the most fun ever in college on the first day of class by getting to roll around the school in our desk chairs. It was completely unexpected and introduced a kind of simple joy back into my life that I haven't experienced in a while. I hope this class expands my thinking and thought process to re incorporate sills fun things that are consistently overlooked in my life and in my school work. I hope to have a fun semester and great learning experience.
