Road Blocks.
I felt this assignment was going to be extremely easy because I like to complain a lot about the roadblocks to my creativity in my life. But, after spending the time what I enjoy doing, I realized that the roadblocks weren't really the issue. The issue was how I manage my time.
So the list of Roadblocks are as follows:
Work, School, Girlfriend, Dogs, Time, Equipment, Resources, Friends, Other Peoples Time, Money.
Looking at the list, I feel Time, Work, and Money kind of fall into the same category. I used to spend a lot of time at work to make money. I recently have been taking time off of work to work on my capstone. So I realized that if I'm not working and not making money, I need to be spending that time wisely on projects and other things that make me happy. But, the things that make me happy, Girlfriend, Dogs, Friends, can also take away from the time that I have to be productive towards my project. The way I kind of worked around this was to work on my project in the same room with my girlfriend doing homework and dogs playing so we're all spending time together but getting homework done. The obstacle in this is when I need to go somewhere to shoot video or go to school to edit footage. The roadblocks then come up for Equipment, Resources, Friends again and Other peoples time. To shoot footage, I have to work with other peoples schedules who have completely different schedules than myself. Sometimes that means we can't shoot on days I would normally have off work and the days they always have off work, for them to shoot would be pulling them away from the people they usually spend time with on the weekends to come shoot with me. Not forgetting that I usually work weekends, so Work Time and Money come back into play because I'm the one asking off work again. I'm not sure how to work around this except to keep asking off work but when I do there are days where not everyone can get together last minute to shoot. It's a frustrating group of roadblocks, but somehow I'll manage to get around them.
